Dear Windy City Partner,
Carnival in Chicago has been a long standing tradition for more than 20 years. It has served as the main celebration of Caribbean and West Indian culture in our great city. Year after year, carnival spectators and masqueraders descend on Midway Plaisance, every 3rd Saturday in August. They dance, sing, eat, and pay homage to every nation in the Caribbean and West Indies. However, it has yet to reach the notoriety deserving of a city, such as Chicago. Windy City West Indian Carnival (Windy City Carnival) is here to breathe life back into these festivities.
In 2017, Windy City Carnival will take place on Saturday, August 19th, on the Midway Plaisance, located on the historic Campus of the University of Chicago. Since our inception in 2013 we have drawn thousands to the Midway for an electrifying parade of bands competition. Vendors from across the country come to sell mouthwatering delicacies and beautiful crafts representing native Caribbean and West Indian Nations. The daylong event features the very best in Caribbean and West Indian dance, food and pageantry.
While August 19th is the main event, Windy City Carnival is a protracted affair, which will provide ample opportunities for you to promote your company. The 5 month season includes a myriad of media events, educational opportunities, parties, media events, and parades. As the third largest North American city, with its diverse population, and thriving music and cultural scene, Chicago should be one of the premier locations for Carnival revelry. However, you would be surprised to find that this market it is virtually untapped. Comparable cities such as Miami, New York, and Toronto report annual revenue flows of over $300 million per year. Join with us as we strive to establish Chicago as the Midwest hub for Carnival celebrations.
Please view our Corporate Package that has been sent to local sponsors. Currently, all levels of participation are available and negotiable. We have also included a specific list of additional underwriting opportunities that are available a la carte, for your review. We look forward to building a lasting relationship in the coming years.
